bullet through glue

The next album is encapsulated by the image of shooting a bullet into a wall of glue. It's about the motion of the bullet going through : fiercely and forcibly, but slow and with strenuous effort. Like healing or walking blind. Slow but steady. Even more : Immobile while being a destructive force, unstoppable. A boulder.

We first thought of the concept when we started doing better last year and so life felt terribly calm, also so so heavy. We were bearing the weights of our past actions, our future selves. We were seeing things clearly but lazily.

It felt liberating to do nothing and grieve. To accept feelings. To feel anger and to let go. We started letting go of a lot of our lives. We were guided by a strong sense of change. Every cell and fiber of us was changing.

The desire to liberate ourselves of our dark parts. We became obsessed with our liberation, how good it felt and how necessary it was. The mantras we were repeating kept changing, but the energy stayed the same. To do better. The liberation and letting go also came in the shape of giving up and being slow, lazy, a coward. It felt good. It was authentic and it preserved our souls.

A main theme or energy in this process is steady force. We let go of our high highs and low lows. boring made us stable. Less desire for destruction. Least shame possible.

We were in a peaceful war with ourselves. Violence walked with us. We were hurt and small wanting to fly. We drove far away and enjoyed the beach and the countryside, we were crawling craving more, creation.

We were exploding, the album is also like a movement, not caring but still being in it. Not being able to move on but being lethargic. And it is a name, it is a place, it is a person, it's giving up.
